This past week, we celebrated International Open Access Week with cookies and chances for prizes at the Library Research Desk in the Learning Commons..  Faculty, staff and students learned more about the newly passed Open Access Policy at ACU, how to upload scholarly articles to DC@ACU, and how to obtain free access to scholarly articles for research.

What is Open Access?  Open access is a free, unrestricted online access to scholarly articles. By including scholarly articles in ACU’s open access repository, authors increase their readership and citation rates. At ACU, we support open access through our newly passed Open Access policy and through our memberships to SPARC (Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition) and COAPI (Coalition of Open Access Policy Institutions). Published articles can be submitted to ACU’s Open Access Repository, DC@ACU. For more information on how to begin your submission, please see our Open Access FAQ at http://digitalcommons.acu.edu/open_access/  For more information on our policy, please contact Erica Pye at  exp10a@acu.edu.
