Project Overview

ACU seeks to assess and improve student learning outcomes by adding course assignments that require the use of Adobe Creative Cloud. Through eighteen Adobe Faculty Fellow grants over a two-year grant cycle, the initiative to increase digital pedagogy will aid in identifying best practices for teaching and assessing digital skills with Adobe Creative Cloud across the curriculum and throughout the student and teacher experience. The initiative will identify and share impactful approaches to using Adobe Creative Cloud in the classroom across a wide variety of academic disciplines, as well as identify and promote effective professional development opportunities for faculty in the areas of digital literacy instruction and creative software deployment. 

Goals

The goals of this program are to:

  1. Promote the development of skills such as creativity and creative problem-solving;
  2. Increase the number of students using Adobe Creative Cloud;
  3. Engage faculty committed and ready to adopt Adobe Creative Cloud in their curriculum; and
  4. Increase the potential for scaling adoption of Adobe Creative Cloud across ACU.

Eligibility Criteria

The Adobe Faculty Fellows Program is available for full-time faculty teaching at least one section of the course being adapted to use Adobe Creative Cloud.

Selection Criteria

For Spring 2021 cohort, four to six $1,500 grants will be awarded.

Grants will be awarded based on the following criteria:

  1. Purpose: proposals must plan to revise existing course syllabi to promote the use of Adobe Creative Cloud in course assignments where not previously being used.
  2. Quality: instructor’s relative confidence in the precision and pedagogy of Adobe Creative Cloud in the curriculum.
  3. Scope of Audience: number of ACU students impacted in one semester
  4. Sustainability: ability and intention to utilize Adobe Creative Cloud in the applicant’s future courses
  5. Scalability: potential applicability to sections of the course taught by other faculty
  6. Timeliness: ability to be implemented by Spring 2021.

Project Timeline

October 2020

  • Submit Proposal by October 30, 2020
  • Review proposal submissions submitted by November 5, 2020
  • Announce Adobe Faculty Fellows on November 6, 2020

November 2020

  • Attend Adobe professional learning sessions hosted via Zoom by the Innovation Foundry and the Learning Studio staff.

Spring 2021

  • Implement proposed assignment in course.

May 2021

  • Produce reflective testimonial videos detailing the pedagogy of the adoption of Adobe tools, with description and illustration of learning outcomes.

Academic Support

Following awardee announcement, the Innovation Foundry and Learning Studio will assist with the implementation of Adobe Creative Cloud in the curriculum and related course support.

Proposal Submission

Submit proposals that include:

  • Course in which you plan to incorporate an Adobe Creative Cloud application
  • Upload of the current course syllabus
  • Provide a summary of your interest in doing this project, your background with the course, the nature of the course modifications you would like to pursue including which Adobe application you plan to use, and any special opportunities or challenges you anticipate in carrying out your plans.
  • Grant recipients will attend a workshop on creativity and using Creative Cloud in the curriculum, produce a reflective testimonial video detailing the pedagogy of the adoption of Adobe tools, and will serve as a mentor to future Adobe Faculty Fellows.
