Tiffany Lutz, a junior animal science major from Zelienople, Pa., will be featured in the Abilene Reporter News Ag Monthly discussing her research.

The objective of her research was comparing the nutritive values of four different tropical legumes with a basal diet of Sudan grass hay. She then assessed the effect of legume supplementation on feed intake of growing kids, or baby goats.

“It was really exciting to be interviewed,” said Lutz. “It’s not something that I saw happening at the beginning of the project, so it was really encouraging to have someone ask about the project. “

Lutz admits that the project wasn’t easy, but is pleased with the end results.

“Even if you don’t get the results you thought you would or if you hit a rough spot during the project, it’s great to look back at the end and see what you learned both academically and about yourself,” said Lutz.
