The 2012 SAAS Convention was held in Birmingham, Ala. on Feb. 4-7. Students Tiffany Lutz and Wiepie Rojas attended the Convention this year.
Rojas presented a research project about food disparity on the Navajo Reservation.
“My poster session wasn’t in a competition,” said Rojas. “But I had several people think that I was a graduate student, so that was cool.”
Rojas was also able to sit in on some of the other research presentations and learned about challenges that arise for small farmers.
“My favorite memory was driving around Birmingham with Dr. Nicodemus and Dr. Brokaw,” said Rojas. “Trying to find restaurants with their faulty iPhones.”
