Haley Wilkerson, sophomore animal science major from Bonham, Texas, was named the inaugural Miss Frontier Texas on Saturday, March 24.
Taking part in several challenges involving frontier life skills, Wilkerson was in her element.
“Being involved in the agriculture department brought all the challenges closer to home,” said Wilkerson. “I am happy to win and shed positive light on the department, especially with the recent negative events.”
Wilkerson, a survivor in the Nov. ACU bus accident, narrowly received medical clearance in order to participate in the scholarship competition.
“It combined all my interests into one,” said Wilkerson. “It was a pleasure and blessing to compete.”
