Along with the new school year comes new officers for the Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Club (or AES Club). This year’s officers are President Will Morales, a junior Wildlife Management and Livestock Production major from Rotan, Texas, Vice President Bryce Gerlach, a senior Environmental Science major from Far Hills, New Jersey, and Chaplin Cade Deines, a Communications major from Cypress, Texas. All of the officers chose to take the position they did in order to serve the AES Club family.

The purpose of the AES Club is to come along side ACU and the A&E Department in training young men and women for Christian service in the fields of agriculture and environment. The club also provides ways for students to get involved in service projects and build their resumes.

The theme for the club this semester is “Southern Hospitality” and the theme verse is Hebrews 13:2, “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.”

This year the AES Club will host and take part in several events such as the Cedar Creek Waterway cleanup, a Barn Dance, a trip to the Medina Children’s Home, a Beast Feast and a Critter Dinner and the ACU Rodeo. Some of the events such as the Barn Dance, Beast Feast and Critter Dinner are for fun and fellowship, but other like the Cedar Creek Waterway cleanup and the Medina Children’s Home trip are great opportunities to serve.

Joining the AES Club is a great way to make friends and get involved. The club meets every Thursday during chapel in the Hardin Administration building room 128 so come and join us for a time of worship and fellowship!
