Iran just won’t back off from its founding principle (seemingly more essential than a Shia country in contravention to Sunni Saudi Arabia) that America is the Great Satan, and that Israel is also to be condemned and attacked.  Today, with the U.S. not responsible for the Damascus attack by Israel, Iran still wants to attack American interests.  “Iranian official accuses US of giving Israel ‘green light’ to attack consulate in Syria,” Politico, 4-8-24.
