Speech Pathology and Beards?

It’s not often that we associate a speech-language pathologist (SLP) with finding solutions for “the dry, flaky, itchy skin that plagues any man with beard and mustache hair,” but that’s just what Molly (Paulsen) Parker (’07) has done. As a mother of two young boys, Molly began producing natural and organic foods, lotions, and such in her home. One thing led to another and by 2014 she had founded “BRAID {Batch Remedies AID} which specializes in Natural Remedies for Beauty & Wellness” and  Beard and Tackle Provisions for Men to help with their “unruly beards.”

What makes this so special? Well, while Molly was creating these products at home, she was also providing speech-language services for at-risk children across North Texas. Her heart for helping this population developed into her mission. As a result, 10% of the profits from BRAID are donated to Hope Supply Company which provides resources for homeless and at-risk children in North Texas. Ten percent of profits from Beard & Tackle are donated to OurCalling, a discipleship ministry for the homeless in Dallas. Well done, Molly!

We are proud of Molly and her dedication to serving others!
