I Know a Man Who Lives in a Bus

What is the “missional impulse”? In I Know a Man Who Lives in a Bus: The Mission of God in Living Color, Dr. Stephen Johnson shares the story of his own journey with the people of Buffalo Gap, including a particular friend who lives on a county road in an old school bus. Through this story, Dr. Johnson will explore how the missional impulse is a crucial way of being and knowing, calling for a generation of Christians sent into the world to give to and receive from the other the hospitality of God.

  1. this means to me that the man probably live his life like he wanted to and that it was god’s calling for him to be coming home but for the lords things that he does you cant really question him on the things that he does because for every thing its a purpose to it but for the man I really feel sorry about that but you have to be strong and live life. d.brown

  2. Like how he talks about how we can gain a lot by listening to other people’s types of music and how it can relate to us. We really do need to figure out what is a priority in our lives and there is a lot we can learn from the man that lives in the bus.

  3. Hearing the story of the man who lives on the bus makes a person think and reevaluate what the necessities of life really are. These days we count on so many material things that we would be left completely helpless if put into his situation. The fact that he lives off of (what we would consider) nothing makes me feel that he is a strong person in this world and also in God.

  4. this was a very truthful speech, i had problems with finding out if God is talking to you, but if you actully take time to be quiet and be around nature, you could hear him wisper calmly in your ears on what you need to set right in your life. thats what i loved about my high school in kentucky, the mountains trees and birds where sooo beautiful i could sit there for hours just telling God how beautiful he creations where and in return i would get something from him
