Honors Abroad – Costa Rica Summer 2018
When I first heard about this trip, I wasn’t sure I wanted to go. This study abroad/mission trip was with COBA where we would be taking business classes. I was unsure of going because I was not a business major and had never taken any form of business class. I decided to go anyway, and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
A Tale of Two Classes – Summer 2018
I took two classes while abroad in Europe: one taught by Dr. Lemly, the other by life itself. The one that Dr. Lemly taught was entitled “The Rhetoric of Public Memory,” and what my three classmates and I did was study how the public in different countries, starting with the United States, remembered and portrayed historical events. We visited a stunning amount of museums and memorials in 4 countries, including England and Scotland as official class visits, Italy and France as the countries we visited outside of class.

Summer Abroad 2018 – Leipzig
This summer, I was blessed with the opportunity to study in Leipzig, Germany, with a Pre-Health group from ACU. I didn’t really know anyone in my group leading into the trip, so I was a bit nervous about living with strangers for two months. I quickly learned that I had nothing to worry about, and we would get along swimmingly.
Just Do It – Summer 2018
Overall, my experience on the Germany Study Abroad was utterly breathtaking. We were stationed in the new Leipzig villa for most of the trip. However, the study abroad program facilitated travel also to the German cities of Weimar, Berlin, Wittenberg, with a day trip to the Buchenwald concentration camp.
Summer Abroad 2018 – Oxford

I am so glad I studied abroad in China because it changed my view of Asian cultures and has even made me consider going back. I definitely recommend stretching yourself and going to a place you never imagined yourself being in because you’ll learn a lot about yourself and about the world.

You cannot remain unchanged after a journey such as this. God is constantly shaping and refining us to be more Christ-like ambassadors for His kingdom. I am not the same person who left Dallas, and with God’s grace, I have a new appreciation and understanding for engaging His global mission.
