Dr. Marisa Beard will serve as interim dean of library services and educational technology while a national search is underway to replace Dr. John Weaver.
Dr. Beard has been a leader in multiple educational technology initiatives in the library since she was hired in 2014.
After receiving an Ed.D. In Learning Technology from Pepperdine University, Marisa was named ACU’s Director of Educational Technology and the Innovation Foundry. Previously she was involved for 20 years with research and technology with PreK-20 teachers and students at Western Illinois University.
Marisa and her husband, David, are members at Hillcrest Church of Christ where they are active leaders in Life Groups, Hillcrest 101 and a variety of other ministries. Whenever possible, they enjoy spending time with their three grown children and nine grandchildren.
