On March 29 – April 2, the Innovation Foundry staff, Dr. Marisa Beard, Stephen Rektenwald (’95), and Amos Gutierrez (’19) shared two virtual presentations at the Society for Information Technology & Teacher Education 2021 conference.

The first presentation, “Creativity in the Classroom: Engaging Students in the Creative Process” highlighted research relating to creativity in the classroom that was derived from the Adobe Faculty Fellows program that awarded 17 grants to faculty since the fall semester of 2019. The presentation emphasized the need for the cross-curricular development of creativity as a learned skill for students to prepare them for the workforce.

The second presentation, “Exploring the Potential of Virtual Reality in Higher Education”, featured research on the use of virtual reality by faculty and students at ACU in classes across the higher education curriculum including physics, sociology, and biology. The research focused on the benefits found in scholarly literature that was realized in our classrooms.
