Abilene Christian University Press (ACU Press) is pleased to announce that it has signed a license agreement with JSTOR to offer digitized versions of select titles to academic libraries. More than 70 titles from the ACU Press imprint will be added to JSTOR’s Books at JSTOR program, allowing libraries the opportunity to purchase or subscribe to these works through their existing JSTOR agreements. Because subsequent revenues and royalties will be shared between JSTOR and ACU Press, this agreement will provide additional revenue to ACU Press and increase the visibility and impact of its authors. ACU Press joins more than 275 leading academic publishers in 43 countries in this partnership.
“JSTOR helps scholars find the best academic resources for research and teaching. ACU Press is proud to join this premiere digital collection, placing our titles in libraries around the world,” said Jason Fikes, Director of ACU Press and Leafwood Publishers.
“ACU Press publishes research and scholarship that is unique in its scope but speaks to a large conversation about American Religious History, Faith and Literature, Texas History, and several other areas of strategic emphasis for ACU,” said James Wiser, Dean of Library Services and Educational Technology for Abilene Christian University. “This partnership with JSTOR will open up those works for discovery by nearly every academic library around the world, and will engage our authors with scholarly conversations everywhere.”
ACU Press joins the University of Texas Press and Texas Tech University Press as the third university press in the state of Texas to participate in the Books at JSTOR program.
