Join us for a live debate entitled “Resolved: The Texas Heartbeat Act advances justice and the common good.” The debate is presented by the ACU Political Science and Criminal Justice Department in partnership with the ACU Library and features students from the department’s Research Methods class. Dr. Benjamin Peterson will be the moderator.
The event will take place Tuesday, November 30 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the ACU Library Reading Commons. All are welcome.
The debate is modeled after Intelligence Squared, a nonpartisan organization dedicated to restoring critical thinking, reason, and civility to American public discourse. It is an opportunity to learn, not just argue. The audience will be polled before and after the event. The winner will be the side who changes the most audience members’ minds.
