It was good to see many of you this week as classes are underway. Mu Sigma, is the ACU mathematics club, committed to helping build a more tight knit mathematics community through a variety of social and academic experiences. If you would like to be a part of Mu Sigma (no dues required) we will hold an interest meeting this Friday at 11:45 AM in OSC 235. We especially would like to welcome the new students to our department at this meeting and discuss officer nominations for the upcoming school year.

Mu Sigma membership is open to more than just math majors, so if you have a friend who would be interested in what we do, invite them to attend. A sign up sheet is located in the links on the sidebar to the right.
Finally, Mu Sigma sponsors the problem of the week competition. Information about this competition will be discussed at the meeting, but you can check out details at the post pinned to the top of the Mu Sigma blog page. The first problem of the semester is available next Friday, September 3rd at 12:00 PM on the Mu Sigma blog. We invite you to participate.
