An interesting article was recently shared with me titled, “Dear Scholars, Delete Your Account at Academia.edu.” 

The article was published in 2017 on Forbes.com by Sarah Bond, an Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa. Bond brings up some good points of concern with Academia.edu, and offers some good open access, non-profit alternatives.
