Event Recap: ArcGIS and Illustrator

Amos Gutierrez, ACU Library's Adobe Ambassador, presented last week with a demonstration using Adobe Illustrator to enhance the visual production of ArcGIS maps. 

 

Illustrator is a powerful tool for producing professional visual design and, when using the ArcGIS plugin, allows a user to create a map with customized colors, icons, and more. This gives the user more control over the visual product, while still taking advantage of the geospatial data and map overlay functionality of ArcGIS. 

 

The pro version of ArcGIS is available to ACU students, faculty, and staff on the desktop computers in the Scholars Lab, and Adobe Illustrator is part of the Creative Cloud, which is also available to all ACU students, faculty, and staff.
