MB Cuevas: Why the child care is not viable on campus?
WJ: Expensive, a business in which we are not in, we would want to have an excellent service. When I look at the majority of our employees, health care and retirement are the focus because it benefits the most employees. We have pursued many partnerships and ideas but have not found anything that is feasible or doable.
KW: On key holidays that kids are out of school but we are here working, is there a way to have a one day camp or day care?
WJ: Several challenges with that due to the fact we do not have an office or budget that could run that.
WJ: I have been thinking about our time off. What does it look like to have some flex time and freedom to meet family and self care needs? How can we use this big bank of time in a more useful way to employees? I would like to restructure that so people could use their time in a way that is more beneficial?
< Mentioned Sick to Service as a beneficial use of sick days that are likely not to be used.>
BF: Do vacation days roll over?
WJ: You can roll over 80 hours a year. Our world has changed so much and we would like to
It will take some time to accomplish, but we would like to have all employees paid every other Friday. Everyone would be on the same leave schedule, pay schedule, etc. That would be beneficial to employees and bring simplicity to payroll.
Several people mentioned how confusing it is to figure out
Google calendar: Could we add features to the payroll calendar that let us know when leave balances are applied, roll over, when it is time to
D’Angelo: Is it feasible to repeat the week off in the summer?
WJ: It was so difficult to find a week that works for everyone. The week off was given for a very specific reason and purpose. The SLT is considering the benefits and drawbacks to making that permanent. It is on the agenda items coming up for SLT. Is it better to take that one week off, or overhaul the way we use that time? The closure was great, but we don’t want to lose the flexibility of allowing people to take vacation when they want to.
KW: The time off followed by the 40 days of prayer was amazing. Because it closed out the previous year, we got physical rest followed by spiritual focus.
WJ: In the spring, I would like to send out a survey to get feedback on benefits offered. What do the employees really want?
Curtis: New chaplain on board. I would like to really encourage that office to create an ongoing spiritual environment that is the norm.
WJ: Praying for our community. What is it that we are intentionally doing to create that environment. What if we
DL: Do we allow people to donate unused sick leave for others that need it?
WJ: We do have a Sick Leave Bank. Maternity Policy: we get all women to six weeks time off.
NH: I have so many hours, I am happy to donate them.
WJ: We capture a lot of hours primarily from people leaving ACU. We have so many hours in the sick leave bank. I would advise you not to touch those hours right now because we are working on overhauling the system and you may be able to use them another way.
WJ: Human Resources is here to support our employees, we are on the same team. If you hear anyone asking questions about anything hr related, have them contact me! I have an open door policy. Feed me ideas about how to you would like to see your hours used.
