CompassPro for Staff

What is this initiative?

Compass (powered by Suitable) is an app our campus has been using for several years, enabling users – primarily students – to share and record their experiences across campus (attending events, reflecting on activities, uploading pictures of extra-curriculars, engaging with campus trainings, etc.)

Faculty began utilizing the app in 23-24, and now, staff can use it as well, using the same portal as faculty, CompassPro.

Staff Senate has set up the CompassPro portal to allow staff to share when they participate in their favorite engagements across campus. Many of ACU’s staff members are already involved in events and programs at ACU, and this optional initiative is designed to recognize and incentivize their participation.

What are the incentives?

Great question. Staff Senate is continually working to build options for incentives (and we’re looking for both on and off campus partners to help provide those), so the prize pool is consitently changing, but so far we have been able to offer:

-Paramount date night for 2

-Your choice of 2 tickets to an OIEB event (such as Ethnos or The International Food Festival)

-Bundle of 4 tickets to an Athletics event

-Starbucks, Amazon, Dirty Dough, & Big Country Med Spa gift cards

-SWRC lockers, towel services, or personal training sessions

-Rally Cat Experience for Kids to enjoy exclusive up-close and personal experiences on game days with ACU Athletics (See website for more details)

-Athletic facilities tours – Get a behind-the-scenes look at some of the best Athletic facilities in the state of Texas, from Moody Coliseum to Anthony Field at Wildcat Stadium, all the way to Bullock Brothers Ball Park

-Various ACU and ACU Compass Swag

How do events/tasks get added to the portal?

We’re so glad you asked! We are always open to new events/tasks, but we need your help! Staff Senate has a couple of point persons who manage the Compass portal and they are happy to add new activities if you want to submit your requests or ideas using this Google spreadsheet (must be logged into MyACU to access). 

FAQS

Q: Is engaging with CompassPro a requirement for staff? 

A: Absolutely not. It’s completely optional and simply a way for staff to be recognized and incentivized for the things they’re already doing on campus (although we hope it also informs staff of new and deeper ways to engage as well).

Q: Why do I see activities in CompassPro that say “Faculty Only”?

A: The Adams Center is the owner of the CompassPro Portal that we are getting to utilize for Staff Senate, so they have offerings specific to faculty. To help determine what counts for you and the Community Involvement badge, look for the “Staff Senate” experience tag or the various competencies indicated above (spiritual formation for staff, multicultural enrichment, etc.)

Q: There are other things I’m involved with on campus that I think should be included in this badge, what do I do?

A: This is great! Send Staff Senate’s point person (currently Anne Hocking) an email about your event and we’ll see if we can get that added).
