Statistics of a Function

Description:  In this lecture we explore the relationship between the integral and statistics.  We start by determining the average value of a function over an integral which leads to the very important mean value theorem.  We also derive formulas for the standard deviation and variance of a function.  After a few examples, we transition to a discussion of continuous random variables and their associated probability density functions.   This leads to a characterization of the integral of the pdf in terms of probability.
