Remembering Anabel

Last Saturday, Jan. 28, would have been Anabel Reid’s 20th birthday. In her honor, friends and family met outside of the Zona Luce Building to scatter a portion of her ashes. Among the guests were Anabel’s mother and brother, Shelley and Becton Reid.

“As much as Anabel loved life, and she really loved life,” said Shelley. “Anabel loved God more.”

So far, the Reid family has compiled a growing list of 16 locations to scatter Anabel’s ashes. One of those sites being the A&E campus focal point, a place very dear to Anabel.

“Anabel loved this department,” Shelley said. “Especially the people in it.”

At the ceremony, Shelley shared a brief message and Dr. Mills lead “It Is Well with My Soul” and “The Joy of the Lord.” The morning was concluded with prayer and the reading of this verse:

However, I consider my life worth noting to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me- the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24
