The Cornerstone class invites you to think, write and speak critically about issues, ideas, problems, and questions.  Part of this process is identifying what assumptions are being made about an issue, what evidence is needed to inform decisions, and what implications might come about as a result of thinking in a given way.

An important tool in assisting with the creation of informed writing and speaking is the collection of books, journals and reference materials available at the Library.  Navigating the collection presents unique opportunities to make connections between ideas and evidence that support the points you are making in your work.

In order to facilitate navigating the Library’s collections, the Brown Library at ACU is partnering with Cornerstone to provide Personal Librarians for each section.  Contact information for your librarian is available on your myCornerstone site.

The Library has also created the Learn to Learn site to serve as a clearinghouse for information tailored specifically to the Cornerstone writing assignment.  Learn to Learn gathers helpful websites, reference tools and key books that support evidence from the perspective of data, the arts and theology – the three main ways of knowing at the heart of the Cornerstone class.
