Jesse Backfisch graduated with a degree in Foreign Languages and International Studies in 2012. A linguist, historian, and self-described feminist, she brought a challenging, incisive viewpoint to discussions in my courses, all while juggling responsibilities to her young son. I was never more proud of a graduating student. Her success demonstrated to me the high possibilities inherent in ACU’s emphasis on great teaching.
