The Open Access Button

Have you heard about the Open Access Button?

Launched in November of 2013, this is a browser extension that you can add, which helps you to find the research articles you need legally. One click of the button will search open access repositories and journals to help you find the research you need when you can only locate it behind a paywall.

More recently, The Open Access Button team is rolling out something new called InstantILL.

“InstantILL attempts to bring the multitude of places our patrons have to search for an item into one simple search form. This allows ILL practitioners to focus more on difficult requests that require a human touch by presenting already available content — whether through subscription or Open Access — to a patron before they submit a request.” – Tina Baich, Associate Dean for Collections at IUPUI University Library
