P2: Photopolymer etching

Brief

Print a series of images from two different photopolymer plates (images). Create a variety of combinations with print/background colors, and paper.

Process/criteria

Open subject matter. You must take your own photos. Pre-select as many images as you can (6 to 10 at least), pre-print them in black and white. Print final images or photocopy them on transparencies (make sure you have the right transparency type for each kind of printer — ink jet, or laser/photocopy machine).

Print/plate size: 5×7

Turn in:

Image A:

  • B&W only (no background color)
  • 1-color only (no background)
  • B&W or 1-color with 1-color background
  • B&W or 1-color with 2-color background

Image B

  • B&W only (no background color)
  • 1-color only (no background)

Frame your 2 best images on a 16×20 frame (You can get them from Bev in the art office).
Mount the other ones on 16×20 white matte-board.
