Calculating Areas

 Description:  In this lecture we consider the application of integration to finding areas of various regions.  Our investigation of areas will cause us to think about integrating vertically vs. horizontally.  Additionally, we will demonstrate techniques for handling annular regions via polar coordinates and determine areas enclosed by parametric equations.  Some familiarity with polar equations and parametric equations is assumed though we will review some basic concepts.
