Several colleagues and a former student were kind enough to write letters supporting my application for tenure and promotion to associate professor. They are all gathered here so that you may find them easily, but you will also notice that I have placed the letters in the appropriate sections of the portfolio for clearer context.
Letter of Support from Dr. Lauren Lemley, Department of Communication. Lauren has been my co-teacher in Core 120 and Core 210 since 2011. This letter is also located in the Teaching section.
Letter of Support from Dr. Joseph Stubenrauch, of Baylor University. Joe is a colleague who, like me, studies and writes about British religious history in the nineteenth century. Because of the similarity of our scholarly interests, he has been able to observe my scholarly work more closely than any ACU colleagues have. This letter is also located in the scholarship section. For context, Joe’s CV is available here: Stubenrauch CV.
Letter of Support from Dr. Tracy Shilcutt. Tracy is my colleague in the Department of History and Global Studies and has also been a very important mentor to me. This letter is also located in the Collegiality section, but really speaks to all aspects of the portfolio – teaching, scholarship, service, and collegiality.
Letter of support from Dr. Autumn Sutherlin, of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Autumn was my new faculty mentor when I first came to ACU, and I have enjoyed participating on a couple of university committees with her. This letter is also located in the Service section.
Letter of support from Mr. Justin Webb, an excellent former student. Justin graduated from ACU in 2013 and will begin his graduate work in history this fall. This letter is also located in the Teaching section.
Letter of support from Ms. Hilary Simpson of the McNair Program. This letter speaks to my ability to encourage student scholarship and is also located in the Teaching section.
