Amy Beth Castleberry on Photographer of the Day: 09 - Leibovitz
4:24 pm, 05.29.12
I agree with Brandy on that Annie Leibovitz has an insane amount of whimsical quality to her photos. However, I also really enjoyed her photographs of WIllie Nelson and people playing guitar. The quality of the pictures is amazing and adds a more realistic quality than her other photos, but they still have that fairytale feel.
Amy Beth Castleberry on Photographer of the Day: 11 - ParkeHarrison
4:21 pm, 05.29.12
The creativity of PakeHarrison’s photography is so amazing to me. I am really enjoying the elements of composition and creativity that go into this photographer’s work. Some of my favorite pieces are those of the plants coming out of the arms.
Amy Beth Castleberry on Photographer of the Day: 10 - Recuenco
8:55 am, 05.24.12
I’m going to be quite honest, this stuff Eugenio Recuenco’s work is WEIRD. I have no idea how some of the artist’s come up with some o this stuff. However, I love it. It’s got about everything I like, from the weirdness to the dramatic lighting and fashion photography aspect. You definitely feel the emotional quality of his work.
Amy Beth Castleberry on Photographer of the Day: 06 - Avedon
4:18 pm, 05.21.12
I love the way Avedon captures his clients in a moment they are at in life. Some of them may be posed, but it they way he takes them makes them seem very personable and takes their personality and captures in a work of art. My favorites are the ones of the New York Life on his website. Especially the ones of the children.
Amy Beth Castleberry on Photographer of the Day: 04 - Evans
2:23 pm, 05.21.12
I really love the way Evans captures the moment in time. That’s what photography is all about and he does a wonderful job of it. This isn’t the actual kind of photography that I would want to do, but I still enjoy this type of work.
Amy Beth Castleberry on Camera Obscura by Morell
8:35 am, 05.16.12
I really enjoy the idea of the camera obscura and the function that it has. I don’t always understand how it works but it’s awesome and I got some pretty cool images out of the pinhole camera yesterday. This photographer perfects this concept though and his images are as perfect as a regular digital camera. My favorite picture is probably his glasses.
