The meaningful life

Existentialism can be put in the category of new creation. The search for finding meaning and for living life according to that meaning is similar to the goal of living a Christian life towards making it into heaven. I think that it is very interesting that in order to fully live a meaningful life you must come up with what your meaning to life is.
As Christians we are held responsible for our actions for the Kingdom and our actions in life. The idea of responsibleness, an idea that Frankl came up with, can be attributed to that of being responsible for living your life and yours alone. No one can find meaning for you. You are responsible for finding your own meaning to life and for trying to live out that life to the fullest. This is the same as living out the Christian lifestyle to the fullest, and in turn you can find meaning to put to your life.

“No one can find meaning for you.” I think about how when I came to college, I realized how much of my faith was just a reflection of my parents values, morals, and faith. How I had to rediscover Christ for myself to truly have a real relationship with him. I do believe that everyone believes in something, where its that there is a God, there isn’t a God, whatever. But we base our life and actions around that inner belief system, that code or understanding that gives us direction.

Very true mary kate/Laura kate. Finding your own path is new creation. You and you alone are responsible for how to deal with the struggles in life. No matter what happens I always have to remind myself that i am responsible for how I deal with the certain obstacles that are placed in my life. It is so easy to blame others for things that have happened to us. But we cannot live a full life if we don’t take responsibility for what we do with what we have.

I like what you said about you are responsible for your life and yours alone. It is important to remember that the only person you can control is yourself, so you are who decides your own happiness. I like that you connected this thought to faith. Good post!

Laura Kate, thank you so much for your blog post. I found it very insightful and thought provoking. I really enjoyed what you said about coming up with what your meaning to life is. As a senior, it’s been really hard to find direction and figure out what I am going to do next. I think that the stage that we are in speaks very highly to that.
