Works In Preparation

A Theological Introduction to the Old Testament

I am currently working as a general editor of A Theological Introduction to the Old Testament. This is a project I initiated by inviting over twenty Old Testament scholars affiliated with Churches of Christ, and 27 presentations were made at the Christian Scholars’ Conference in 2007-2010. I discussed the project for publication with K. C. Hanson, Editor in Chief at Wipf and Stock, who liked the project and said, “I hope you go with us.” He told me to send him a proposal, and I am in the process of writing it.

The Bible, Justice and Law

This is a project I came up with as Andy Little and I were scheduled to teach a graduate level course on The Bible, Justice and Law. I invited Andy Little (ACU) and William Kooi (OC) to work with me as co-editors, and a total of 12 articles of interdisciplinary nature with a panel discussion have been presented at the Christian Scholars’ Conference in 2015-2016. More presentations are planned for 2017 and 2018, and a publication will follow after the last year of presentations. Letter from Andy Little_Bible, Justice & Law

Genesis

I wrote an eight-week series curriculum on Genesis for Hillcrest (October 16, 2013). I wrote this and a few others with publishing later in mind. Neal Coates, for example, was so impressed with the quality of the Genesis material that he told me “Copyright it!” I intend to do it in the near future. You may find a copy of Genesis as a sample curriculum below. Genesis

Psalms

My dissertation title is “Psalms 145-150: The Final Hallelujah Psalms as a Fivefold Doxology to the Hebrew Psalter,” I shared one chapter “Psalms 1-2 and Psalms 146-150: The Twofold Introduction and the Fivefold Doxology to the Hebrew Psalter” with James Thompson, and he suggested I edit it for publishing in the Restoration Quarterly. Since this is a chapter of my dissertation, at least a new introductory paragraph is needed. I am planning to submit another chapter “Psalms 146-150 and Their Relationship to the Fifth Book of the Hebrew Psalter” to journals like Catholic Biblical Quarterly.
