A&E Students Make it to Finals in an Entrepreneurial Competition

Congratulations to Derek Zimmerman, senior environmental science major from Round Rock, Texas, and John Stephens, senior environmental science major from Abilene.  These students entered ACU’s Springboard Ideas Challenge, a competition for entrepreneurs to enter and win money for their business ideas.  At the 2011 competition Zimmerman and Stephens made it to the finals and received honorable mention in the students division along with a cash prize.  More »

2011 Spring Awards Banquet

A&E’s annual Spring Awards Banquet took place Thursday, May 5 at University Church of Christ.  This was a time to recognize the 2011 graduates, congratulate those who have won special departmental awards and to welcome the incoming Alpha Epsilon Sigma, AES, officers for the upcoming school year. 

The department was honored to have Dr. Nancy Shankle, the Associate Dean for the College of Arts and Sciences, in attendance as well as the A&E faculty and staff.  More »

Texas Farm Bureau 2011 Collegiate Discussion Meet

Four of our students Jessica Epps, Kathleen Henderson, Anabel Reid and Syrah Wellmann, participated in the Texas Farm Bureau Collegiate Discussion Meet on April 16 in Waco, Texas.  Anabel was one of four students to make the finals.

 Dr. Michael Nicademus, assistant professor of environmental science, accompanied the students to the meet and said, “The meet allows students to think about issues in agriculture and talk about them in a constructive way.” More »
