If your doctor’s office orders lab work, xrays, MRI’s, etc. for you, keep in mind that getting these services done at a stand alone facility will be less expensive than having them done in a hospital. Check your the provider list at www.bcbstx.com and ask your doctor’s office to send you to a provider like Quest Diagnostics, Abilene Diagnostic Clinic, or Dr. Jay’s for a less expensive option.

In 2009, ACU implemented a records management policy. Primary responsibility for managing the university’s records rests with the department or office  responsible for creating those records. Many of you have turned in your departmental records management schedules to our office. If you have not, please email them to legalservices@acu.edu.

The goal in developing these schedules is to create, preserve, and safeguard university records for valid operational, legal, or historical reasons. Each department is strongly encouraged to appoint a Records Manager to assist in implementation and compliance with this policy. In addition, each department should designate at least one day each year to allow its employees to focus on records management, including reviewing and updating its departmental records management schedule. Please call the Office of Legal Services at ext 2485 if you have any questions.

Student Financial Services would like to remind departments to always post any available student employee positions through HR’s website using the HR “Request for Student Personnel” form.This enables ACU to meet compliance with Federal regulations for college work study by making job listings available to all students.

Did you know there is an international tab on ACU’s Benefits Website? A travel guide has been added to provide the information designed to assist ACU employees with obtaining medical services and/or emergency assistance when traveling more than 100 miles from home.

Each year during Staff Pre-Session, we take the opportunity to present awards to two outstanding staff members. The Senior Leadership Team will select the honorees based on nominations they receive from employees. Please take time to nominate a member of the staff for this honor by filling out a nomination form. Be sure to provide examples from your own observations and experiences with the nominee that describe why this particular staff member is outstanding. The deadline to submit nominations is July 2 at 5 p.m.
