Faculty/Staff-In-Residence

Residence Life Education and Housing is accepting applications from faculty and staff members who are interested in engaging, serving, and supporting students while living as an active member of a specific residence hall community. Please contact reslife@acu.edu to request a copy of the application. Faculty/Staff-in-Residence applications are due by April 15, 2014.

Support Our Students (SOS) Program

ACU has a program that can help assess the needs of a struggling student and get them pointed in the right direction. Retirement Reception – Emmett Miller

Emmett Miller will retire from the University this semester after 26 years of service. Please join the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences as we show our appreciation on Wednesday, April 23, 2:30-4 p.m. in the Campus Center Living Room.

Springboard Awards Dinner

The Springboard Awards Dinner will be held on April 15th in the Hunter Welcome Center beginning at 6:00 p.m. with contestant exhibits.  Tickets for the event can be purchased online here. Please email griggscenter@acu.edu with any questions about the dinner or ticket purchases.

2nd Annual Leadership Camps Garage Sale

The 2nd Annual Leadership Camps Garage Sale will be taking place on Saturday, April 5th from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at 625 EN 22nd.  We are accepting donations of items and monetary.  For donation items, they can be dropped off at the camps office (lower level of the Campus Center) before Friday, April 4th or at 625 EN 22nd on the 4th of April.  All monies raised will go towards the Project 341 scholarship fund for ACU Leadership Camps.

Lauryn (Lewis) Hines Farewell

Lauryn (Lewis) Hines has taken a new position in the Dallas area and her final day with ACU will be April 4th.  Lauryn has worked remotely from the Dallas area and Admissions hosted an office farewell when she was in town for Wildcat Preview Day recently.  You can email Lauryn at lauryn.hines@acu.edu to wish her well in her new venture.

Texas Christian Schools Academic Tournament

April 3-5 will see approximately 800 High School and Middle School students from thirteen member schools of the Texas Christian Schools Association on campus competing in their State Academic Tournament. They will be competing in 64 different events including math and science testing, writing, journalism, art, and speaking, both interpretive and public. This year marks the 30th year ACU has hosted the event. Most activities will be located in the Bible and Business buildings. The Department of Communication & Sociology coordinates the administration of the tournament.

Undergraduate Research Festival Approaching

The Festival is Tuesday, April 1st, in the Hunter Welcome Center and will feature undergraduate researchers from around Abilene. Volunteers needed for Faith Calls-Duck Dynasty Event

The stars of Duck Dynasty are going to be on the ACU Campus on Sunday, April 13.  We are in need of volunteer ushers and workers for the event.  There is a student event at 4:00 p.m. and the public event is at 7:30 PM.  The time we need you available is from 3:30-9:00 p.m. All volunteers will receive a free event Tshirt, be able to attend the event and be a great representative of ACU to the community. Please respond to Susan Gore with your T-shirt size and any questions you might have.

April Faculty/Staff Town Hall Meeting

The staff senate invites all faculty and staff to attend our next Town Hall meeting on Thursday, April 10th at 8:30 a.m.  We will meet in the Campus Center Living Room.  Corey Ruff, Director of Facilities and Campus Management, will discuss ACU’s new partnership with Cenergistic, and how this will impact the university through energy and financial savings.
