The main mail service window will be closed between 12 and 1 p.m. from Tuesday, Jan. 2nd – Friday, Jan. 12th. If there’s a need for any departmental mail to be sent out between the hours of 12-1 p.m., please knock on Mail Services door, and an employee will assist you with your shipment. With the upcoming Christmas holiday, this is a good time to review your holiday balance. It is important that employees track holiday hours appropriately. Employees are given a holiday bank to cover all official ACU holidays for a calendar year. It is the employee’s responsibility to record their hours accordingly. If your holiday leave balance is already depleted, it is up to you to research how you reported holiday hours on your time sheet or leave report. If a nonexempt employees enters holiday hours on their time sheet, but has no remaining holiday balance, Banner will automatically dock their pay for those hours.
ACU Library is preparing to remove all LPs, videos, and cassette tapes from the circulating collection by 1/19/2018. Faculty, you may contact Shan Martinez (shan.martinez@acu.edu) if you are interested in saving specific LPs or videos.
Advancement Services will be closed for the holidays from Dec. 25 – Jan. 1. Any checks postmarked by Dec. 31 will still be gift receipted as 2017 gifts. However, for credit card gifts to be receipted as a 2017 gift, the credit card transaction must be completed by Dec. 31.
If your office receives donations, please send the checks and envelopes to our office as soon as possible after we reopen on Jan. 2 so that we may close the 2017 books in a timely manner. Our ACU Box is 29132 and we are located in the Administration Bldg. Room 300. If you have questions, call x2612.
During ACU’s Dead Day (Dec. 11, 1 – 4 p.m.), come and learn more about coding and why it is important to you. Come be part of the national movement by completing one hour of code at our “come and go” event in the ACU Maker Lab classroom. Both hands-on and plugged in activities will be available for those who participate.
We are excited to announce that Dr. Kyle Sheets (‘73) will preside as the medical director of the ACU Medical Clinic beginning January 2, 2018. Dr. Sheets is the founder of Concord Medical Group and was awarded the 2017 Humanitarian Award by the American Academy of Family Physicians at its annual meeting. This recent article provides insight into Dr. Sheets passion for serving others through his medical expertise.
Dr. Sarah Ferguson is the current medical director of our Medical Clinic and she will be closing her practice on campus December 22. This will not affect her other practice located in the Jones Building at Hendrick Medical Center. It has been a privilege to host Dr. Ferguson on campus and she has blessed the ACU community in many ways.
Please know that your medical records will remain the property of the ACU Medical Clinic. You may get copies of your medical records, including immunization records, by completing the Release of Information form and returning it to the Medical and Counseling Care Center (MACCC). Join ACU Athletics and the Students’ Association for Christmas Slam this Saturday (12/9) in Moody Coliseum. The basketball double-header begins at 2 p.m. with the women’s team; men will play at 4 p.m. Come cheer for the Wildcats and enjoy games, cookies and hot cocoa!
The Central Warehouse will have a “soft close” for normal business during the winter break beginning Monday, December 18 – Monday, January 12. During this time, we will be accepting all incoming shipments (UPS, FedEx and freight) and phone calls only. If there is a need for any packages that arrive, the warehouse will be open and available for pick 8:15-11:45 a.m. and 1:15-4:00 p.m. There will not be any town runs, recycling pick up request or deliveries made, including warehouse stock orders during the break. WACU is hosting its Christmas Bake and Craft Sale this Thursday and Friday, Dec. 7-8. Stop by the WACU museum from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. each day to choose from selection of pies, sweet treats, crafts and items from the museum. All proceeds from the sale will go to the WACU Endowed Scholarship Fund.
