Retirement Reception for Dr. Bob McKelvain

Please join the Department of Psychology in honoring Dr. Robert “Bob” McKelvain (’71) on Wednesday, January 30 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. for 29 years of outstanding teaching, research, leadership and service to the university. His reception will be in the Adams Center Classroom and a special presentation will begin at 3:00 p.m. We hope you will be able to join us.

Purchasing Office Closed

The Purchasing office will be closed on Thursday, December 20th and Friday, December 21st.  We will resume normal operations after the winter break closure on January 2nd.  Please note that this does not apply to Warehouse operations. Warehouse operations include UPS and FedEx deliveries, stock orders and recycling pickups. If you have any questions email purchasing@acu.edu.

Foundation Christmas Reception

The ACU Foundation would like to invite current and retired faculty and staff to a holiday reception on Wednesday, December 19 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Hunter Welcome Center around the Christmas tree. It will be a come and go reception with coffee, cocoa, and cookies. We hope to see you there!

Cashier Hours

The Cashier’s desk in the Finance Office will be closed Monday, December 10th. It will be open during regular hours, 1:30 – 4:30 p.m., the remainder of the week Tuesday the 11th through Friday the 14th.

Farewell Reception for Francille Vesel

You’re invited to come honor Francille Vesel and her nearly 20 years of service at ACU. She’s been an incredible asset to the university over the years, particularly the advising team in its various incarnations, and we want to have an opportunity to thank her and wish her well. A reception will be held in the lobby of the Hunter Welcome Center on Monday, December 3rd from 3-5 p.m. It will be come and go with light refreshments.

Benefits Tip – Vacation Rollover

Staff should begin to consider that only 80 hours of vacation can be rolled over to 2019. You can view the details of the vacation rollover for exempt and non-exempt staff that occurs in January here.

Literary Event

Please join us Thursday, Dec. 6 from Noon to 1 p.m. in the Reading Commons as Brown Library partners with the Department of Language and Literature to bring you Story Shorts, a series of monthly readings of short stories. Stop by the Reading Commons to listen and read along as Will Solomon, ACU student, reads “1408” by Steven King.

Faculty/Staff Meeting with Drs. Schubert and Rhodes

Please plan to join Drs. Schubert and Rhodes, as well as other members of the Senior Leadership Team, on Thurs., Nov. 29th, as they discuss a vision of where ACU is headed in the next two to five years. There also will be time for Q&A. Both meetings have the same agenda and are from noon-1 p.m. and 4-5 p.m., in the Hunter Welcome Center, McCaleb Conference Center.

During the busy holiday season, keep in mind that all faculty and staff on ACU’s medical insurance and their dependents (age 2 and over) have access to Wildcat Care Telehealth.  Online medical visits are available 24/7 at a $45 per use fee.  Simply go to wildcat.care and click the “Sign in” button in the upper right-hand corner to get started.  Within minutes you will have a video or phone visit with a medical provider.  If a prescription is necessary, it will be sent to the pharmacy of your choice.
