We in the Counseling Center have been offering a variety of emotional wellness workshops onsite for the past few years as a way to better meet the needs of students. New for Spring 2020, we are going to take a different approach and take our workshops to you.
We can provide these workshops in a small group chapel format over the course of a few weeks, or as one time offerings during a chapel or even class time. Our goal is to be a resource to faculty and staff and to further engage our students, and help equip them with the skills to enable them to cultivate emotional wellness as they navigate their lives. Listed below are the available workshops.
Anxiety Toolbox- designed to teach what anxiety actually is, how it can be beneficial, as well as ways of helping manage it when it gets to be too much.
Mindfulness 101- designed to teach the skill of mindfulness to help deal with strong emotions.
Discovering Hope- designed to teach about depression, and how to alleviate and manage symptoms when they arise.
Relationship IQ- designed to teach students how to better understand how to have healthy relationships. The offerings include: Dating, Communication, Boundaries, Healthy Sexuality, How to Date the Best, and Intentional Friendships.
GRIT- designed to teach about emotional resiliency, showing students that they are enough to handle the difficult situations they at times find themselves in.
Our availability is limited, so if you are interested, please contact us (counseling@acu.edu) between now and February 1, 2020. We truly believe the information in our workshops is incredibly helpful for our students and will help them to be more successful in their time at ACU. Thank you for your consideration!
