As you know, it’s been over a year since we’ve gathered together in person as a staff and faculty community. We believe it’s time to have such a gathering for those of you who feel comfortable doing so!

Please mark your calendars for Tues., April 13, 4-5 p.m., in the Teague Center. Masks are required and social distancing is encouraged. You may choose to sit in closer proximity to people who are in your “bubble”, but we will have plenty of room for everyone to distance. The meeting will also be live streamed for those who prefer a virtual format.

We will share important information about COVID-19 protocols for summer and fall; construction on campus; and expected Fall enrollment. In addition, we want to celebrate the ending of a successful school year, recognize some key colleagues for their work, and acknowledge the losses we’ve experienced over the last year.

This gathering will be an important time for our community, and we encourage you to attend if you are able to do so!

Sue Wright has been an essential part of the Operations Department serving the ACU community for 32 years. Please join us at a retirement reception honoring Sue for her service and to express our best wishes. The come and go reception will be Wednesday, March 31st from 3:00-4:30 p.m. in the Hunter Welcome Center East lobby.

ACU Abilene Staff – It’s time to cast your ballot for the June 2021 – May 2023 Staff Senators! Each year the ACU Staff selects 10 new senators to represent them on the Staff Senate. Please review the candidates and cast up to 10 votes. You may only submit one ballot, so please carefully review your choices before submitting. Voting will remain open through Friday, April 9th. Since the launch of the new acu.edu website, all HR information is being updated on our new page. If you have bookmarked any frequently used forms from our old website, such as ePAF instructions or the ACU Organizational Chart, please remember to bookmark them from the new Human Resources page to stay up to date.

The ACU community is invited to attend the Undergraduate Research Festival on Tuesday March 30th. The online portion of the conference will be from 9:40a.m. to 4:50p.m. (asynchronous presentations will be available throughout the week). Encourage sophomores and juniors you know to apply for the Women for ACU Scholarship! The Women for ACU awards scholarships of up to $2,000 per fall and spring semester each academic year to qualified applicants. Applications are now being accepted through April 9. Click here to learn more.

You are invited to nominate a student for one of the Student Life Honor Awards for the 20-21 school year. Honor Awards include: Honor Man or Honor Woman, Trustees Award, the B. Sherrod Scholarship, or the Dean Adams Achievement Award. We encourage you to nominate as many students for as many awards as you want; you will need to return to this page and submit a new form for each nominee and each award. Nominations should be substantial in length and provide ample information for why the student is being nominated (preferably a lengthy paragraph or longer). Please use this link for your nomination.

The Halbert Center for Missions and Global Service has some quality audio-visual equipment they would be happy to rent to your campus group. Speaker System (includes 2x JBL Speakers, 2x microphones w/stands, 1x mixer and cords) Projector Screen (includes 1x 20 ft. screen, 1x frame, 1 bag, 1x air pump, tie downs, and cords) The Halbert Center appreciates donations in return for renting the equipment. Suggested minimum donations are $30 per day for the Speaker System and $50 per day for the Projector Screen. All proceeds will go to support sending Wildcats on mission! Faculty and staff: RSVP today for Senior Candlelight Send-Off, an evening of celebration, praise and encouragement, on Sunday, May 2! May and December 2021 graduates will gather starting at 8 p.m., location TBA. We hope you’ll mark your calendar for a memorable evening of prayer and praise together.
