Individuals who are vaccinated and exposed will not have to quarantine unless they develop symptoms. Regardless of vaccination, students, faculty, and staff who test positive or are exposed should submit the COVID-19 Notification Form and a representative from the ACU Medical Clinic will reach out with instructions.
ACU will not require vaccination (except for international travel), but we strongly encourage it for your own health and safety. Vaccination will also minimize disruption to our students’ academic and co-curricular experiences. Fully vaccinated individuals will not need to quarantine if contact tracing reveals they were exposed (unless they become symptomatic).
While testing will not be required, it is widely available. Vaccines are offered at no cost at the ACU Medical Clinic, where testing is also available. Please visit acu.edu/medical-and-counseling-care for appointments and other details.
There are still spots available for group swim lesson! Check out the SRWC website for more information and registration for American Red Cross group swim lessons for children ages 4-6 years old. Group lessons begin in July. Contact Alyssa Hawkins at akh04b@acu.edu with any questions.
The Banner Finance year-end balance roll will take place on Monday, June 28 beginning at 5 p.m. Banner will be unavailable for 3-4 hours at that time. If you have any questions, please contact accounting@acu.edu.
Wildcat football is around the corner, and ACU Athletics would like to provide each faculty and staff member with one complimentary general admission season ticket. You must request this ticket for the entire season in advance. Free faculty and staff general admission tickets are not available for individual football games. To claim your complimentary season ticket, call or stop by the Wildcat Ticket Office in the Teague Center, 325-674-CATS (2287), Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To best prepare for the season, please claim your ticket by July 1.
Several months ago, the company used by the City of Abilene for recycling stopped accepting paper and cardboard and picked up the paper and cardboard containers that we used for ACU’s recycling. While the city has left its recycling containers out, the materials are taken to the dump. ACU’s Operations Division has continued to pick up paper and cardboard from the offices in hopes that a new recycler would quickly be found. However, at this time, the city has not found a new recycler. The Operations Division has been transferring the contents of the blue bags into trash bags to go to the dump. Due to the additional labor this requires and the uncertainty of a resumption of service, we will be discontinuing paper and cardboard pickup by the end of July. Departments will be contacted and a time to pick up all blue bags and racks will be scheduled. Operations will store the bags and racks to use again when the city or another company starts accepting paper and cardboard for recycling. Shredding service, for materials with personal or confidential information, will continue. The shredded paper will be put in the trash until paper recycling resumes. As a reminder, our Senior Leadership Team has given all staff members two extra days off this summer as paid holiday time as a bonus for all we have collectively accomplished this past year. The “bonus” days are Friday, May 28, and Friday, July 2. The additional time has been added to your holiday leave balance in Banner for you to report as holiday time. ACU will be closed Friday, July 2 and Monday, July 4.
