The ACU Medical Clinic is partnering with the School of Nursing to offer flu shot clinics for your convenience. The clinic dates and locations are: October 12: 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. outside the SRWC entrance October 12: 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the Campus Center October 14, 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. outside the SRWC entrance The vaccine is available at no charge to all ACU insured employees, spouses and dependents. The flu shot is $25 for non-ACU insured individuals. You may also call 325-674-2625 to schedule an appointment to receive your flu shot at the ACU Medical Clinic.

During the month of October, SOAR and Residence Life will be hosting a food pantry drive to help fill our Student Life pantry. This pantry exists as a free resource to reduce food and hygiene insecurity among our students. We are requesting specific food and hygiene items that have been the most utilized in the past: macaroni and cheese (individual cups), ramen (cups or 12 packs), breakfast/granola bars, P3 protein packs, Keurig K-Cup pods (coffee or hot chocolate), fruit cups, fruit snacks, tampons and deodorant. Please deliver donations to 43J in the McGlothlin Campus Center or purchase online using our Amazon Wishlist. We are so thankful to have campus partners who support our students!

From Risk Management: If you operate vehicles for university business please read and follow the University Driver Policy. The policy requires that departments maintain a list of their Routine Drivers (as defined in the policy) and share it annually with the Office of Institutional Compliance & Risk Management. Routine drivers must have a motor vehicle record check (MVR) conducted each year, and they must complete an online driver safety training course every five years. Risk Management can provide links for both and can review MVR or training history if needed. Moreover, all trips with passengers must submit a passenger list to Risk Management before departure. The passenger list must include the traveler’s first and last name, cell phone, and emergency contact information. The list may be emailed to risk@acu.edu or sent via text to 325-232-1741. Lt. Randy Motz’s Retirement Reception You are invited to celebrate the retirement of ACUPD Lt. Randy Motz. We are grateful for his 9 years of service as the Lieutenant for the ACU Police Department. Throughout the month of October, Sigma Delta Pi national collegiate honor society will be collecting toiletries to help newly arrived Afghan refugees through the local International Rescue Committee. We welcome toothpaste, soap, deodorant (men and women), shampoo, towels. etc. Bins are be located in the Administration Building (Political Science Department), Biblical Studies Building, the Bean and Brown Library. “For I was hungry and you gave something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me…” Mathew 25:31

The Pruett Gerontology Center is hosting a series of lunch time discussions on a variety of topics related to aging. These will feature local experts who can answer any questions you may have. These conversations will be held from 11:30am-1pm on either a Monday or Wednesday through the semester, and lunch will be provided. This semester, they will take place on September 27th, October 27th, and November 15th. If you are interested in any of the following topics, please let us know here.

September is Hispanic Heritage Month – an opportunity to honor the contributions and influence of Hispanic culture in our society. ACU’s Hispanos Unidos will host events throughout the next several weeks, including Entra a La Plaza, featuring Latin traditions, food, and dance. You are invited to celebrate at Entra a la Plaza this Friday, September 24, with local food trucks, Hispanic treats, live music from a Selena tribute band, and a showing of the 1997 film Selena. The event is 6 p.m. to midnight on the Hunter Welcome Center Patio. Other campus groups such as Sigma Delta Pi and the International Student Association will also have events planned throughout Hispanic Heritage Month.
