Dr. Annie Bane Farewell and Best Wishes Reception

You are invited to a “Farewell and Best Wishes” reception for Dr. Annie Bane. For the past 8 years, Dr. Bane has been a blessing to so many across the ACU campus with teaching and mentoring students in the Kinesiology and Nutrition department, as well as working with Parkinson’s research and Community Outreach. Please join us for a come-and-go reception in the Packer Forum located in the Brown Library on April 27th from 3:30-5:00 pm. There will be a brief presentation at 4:00.

ACU Gives

Denim Day

Denim Day is Wednesday, April 26th! It’s a national awareness day where we encourage all students, faculty, and staff to wear denim to show support to victims and survivors of sexual assault. If you would like to decorate your denim to wear on denim day, please join the Title IX Office and Red Thread Movement on Monday (April 24th) and Tuesday (April 25th) from 4-7 pm downstairs in the campus center rm 46.

 

Senior Candlelight Sendoff

Join us Sunday, May 7, for Senior Candlelight Sendoff – a time of praise, prayer and encouragement for the ACU Class of 2023 as they begin the next season of their journey. Faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends are invited to line the walkway from Moody Coliseum to Beauchamp Amphitheatre beginning at 8 p.m. Find out more and make plans to be there for our graduating seniors.

Benefits Tip: TIAA Consultant on Campus

Women for ACU Brunch

Join Women for ACU in the Williams Performing Arts Center for a spring brunch at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 29. Enjoy a free light brunch, courtesy of the WACU board, a campus update and the chance to meet the 2023-24 WACU scholarship recipients. Former scholarship recipient Dr. Jamie (Flud ’99) Willits will share how God has led her profession and ministry to Africa and back to Abilene, and we will also recognize the coaches for ACU’s women’s athletics programs. John Quiñones

ABC News correspondent John Quiñones will be on campus Saturday, May 6, sharing about the opportunities a college education afforded him as a child of migrant farm workers who began school not speaking English. Come to the Hunter Welcome Center at 9 a.m. for coffee and pastries, and the program will begin at 9:30. The event is jointly hosted by ACU’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Race and Media Colloquium in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Sandy King Retirement Reception

After 21 years with the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and 26 years overall at ACU, Sandy King is retiring. We invite you to celebrate Sandy at a come-and-go reception on Friday, May 5, from 2-3:30 p.m. in the Halbert-Walling Research Center lobby.

Retirement Celebration for Suzanne Allmon

Suzanne Allmon will retire this May after 30 years of service to Abilene Christian University, including the past 13 as senior advisor to the president. Faculty and Staff are invited to attend a come-and-go reception Friday, May 19, from 3-4:30 p.m. in the east lobby of the Hunter Welcome Center. There will be a short program in Suzanne’s honor at 4 p.m. The event is free to attend, but registration is encouraged. Please RSVP by Friday, May 12.
