Save the Date: Tish Harrison Warren

The ACU Faulkner Center for Marriage and Family is pleased to announce our fall fundraiser dinner with speaker, Tish Harrison Warren. Tish is the author of Liturgy of the Ordinary: Sacred Practices in Everyday Life (Christianity Today’s 2018 Book of the Year) and Prayer in the Night: For Those Who Work, or Watch, or Weep (Christianity Today’s 2022 Book of the Year and the 2022 ECPA Christian Book of the Year). Recently, Tish wrote a weekly newsletter for The New York Times and was a columnist for Christianity Today. Her articles and essays have appeared in Religion News Service, Christianity Today, Comment Magazine, The Point Magazine, and The New York Times. Please save the date for September 19th, 2024 at 6:30pm in the Hunter Welcome Center, when Tish will speak on Marriage as Formation. USPS Postage Increase

Beginning July 14, 2024, USPS is increasing their First class stamps from $0.68 to $0.73 and Global stamps from $1.55 to $1.65. Please be aware that the USPS is increasing postage across the board which will include all shipping options.

Interim Dean of COBA

As the search process for COBA’s next dean continues, Andy Little, associate dean of COBA since 2014, has agreed to serve as the interim dean beginning July 15, 2024. Recently Dr. Little led the self-study and visit which led to a six-year extension of ACU’s Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB) accreditation. COBA programs have been continuously accredited by the AACSB since 2004.
Dr. Little has served as business law faculty in COBA’s Department of Management Sciences since 2010. Prior to his academic appointment, he practiced law in Texas from 2000 to 2010. He holds a BA in Political Science from ACU and a JD from Texas Tech University School of Law, where he served as editor-in-chief of the law review. He also holds an MA in History. Please welcome Andy to this new role.

Saunders Center Launch

The Landon Saunders Center for Joy and Human Flourishing will officially launch on July 26, Landon’s birthday, with a campus-wide ice cream party featuring his beloved Ben and Jerry’s Vermont Ice Cream. The event will be held at 2 p.m. in the Hansen Reading Commons of the Brown Library. Come meet Dr. Claire Davidson Frederick, the center’s new director, celebrate Landon’s birthday, and hear more about the center’s plans in the coming year. RSVP here.

Staff Pre-Session, August 7

Staff Pre-Session will be on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Hunter Welcome Center, followed by lunch in The World Famous Bean. All staff are encouraged to participate in this time together to prepare for the upcoming year and celebrate our peers who receive the John C. Stevens, Unsung Hero and Outstanding Staff Awards. ACU Soccer July Youth Camp

ACU Soccer is hosting our annual summer kids soccer camps July 15-17. We are looking forward to a tremendous staff of ACU soccer coaches, players and other professional coaches to put on the best soccer camp in the Big Country. Our camp will run Monday to Wednesday from 9 a.m.-noon for boys and girls ages 4-13. This is open to kids of all abilities and experience. There will be prizes, competitions, an ACU Soccer camp shirt, and tons of fun! Register at www.acusoccercamps.com.
