The new musical, Freaky Friday, based on the beloved 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films (and developed by Disney Theatrical Productions expressly for licensing to theaters), features a book by Bridget Carpenter – the co-executive producer and writer on the beloved TV hits, Friday Night Lights and Parenthood – and music and lyrics by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey – the Pulitzer Prize-winning composers of Next to Normal and If/Then. Abilene Christian University is participating in the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU) assessment of faculty and staff thriving this year. This instrument is designed to measure faculty and staff’s levels of thriving, defined as positive emotions and vital engagement in your role at ACU. It also assesses what it takes for university faculty and staff to thrive: aspects of the institutional environment that support or hinder your thriving. Our purpose is to discover the extent to which our faculty and staff are enjoying their work here, to uncover any gender or racial differences, and to address the aspects of the environment that may be hindering your ability to thrive. The survey will allow us to compare our results to other CCCU institutions.

ACU IT is hosting its next surplus computer auction on Saturday, Nov. 2, in Hart Auditorium. The auction begins at 1 p.m., but doors open for bidder registration at 11 a.m. Follow our Facebook page for additional details at facebook.com/ACUauction. Dell, Mac, desktop, and laptop, we’ll have it all. Come join us for the fun and get yourself a sweet deal on a computer.

Join us Friday, Oct. 18, at 6 p.m. to honor this year’s inductees to the ACU Sports Hall of Fame! Enjoy a dinner and ceremony in the Hunter Welcome Center and help us celebrate our talented honorees. Tickets are $35 per person for ages 13 and older or $8 for ages 12 and younger. You can also reserve a table of eight for $350. Registration closes Oct. 14. ACU’s Endowment will be selling a few of our rent houses that are no longer strategic to the university. The university would like to encourage ACU faculty/staff to live in the neighborhood and would like to extend the opportunity to purchase one of the available houses to anyone interested. It’s an undefeated showdown as the last undefeated conference team, University of Texas – Arlington, comes to Abilene to play ACU, currently undefeated in Moody Coliseum. It is our She Can Be match so we’d love for you to bring your little girls out to the game! See you in Moody at 1pm on Saturday!

Save the date! ACU is bringing eHealth Screenings back on campus for your convenience. Complete your complimentary biometric screening to help earn points toward your 2026 wellness credit. All employees and spouses enrolled in ACU’s medical plan for 2026 must complete a biometric screening & annual physical with their physician by 07/31/2025 to avoid the wellness premium surcharge in 2026.
