Benefits Tip: Medicare 101 Virtual Sessions

ACU is excited to offer Medicare 101 Sessions to our employees again this year! We are hosting virtual sessions with a Medicare expert, Tamela Southan, who will be able to answer any questions you may have regarding Medicare, how it works, how Medicare and ACU insurance work together, and how they don’t, etc. Please feel free to invite your spouse to this virtual meeting as well. Workday Launch Assessment

We are now several months into the launch of our Workday implementation, having completed the HR and Finance portion of our project. As mentioned at last week’s meeting, the next phase, which focuses on the Student implementation, is in full swing, with more information for the campus planned for this coming Fall. Celebrating the Retirement of Dr. Donald Isenhower

Dear ACU Community,

We are pleased to announce the upcoming retirement of Dr. Donald Isenhower at the end of this semester. Dr. Isenhower has dedicated four decades of service to Abilene Christian University, shaping generations of physics students and contributing significantly to his field and our campus community.

1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi Commemoration

The Office of Intercultural Engagement & Belonging invites ACU faculty and staff to attend a special Commemoration Service organized by our international students from Rwanda in memory of the victims of the 1994 Genocide. This meaningful gathering offers an opportunity for remembrance, reflection, and solidarity as we honor the lives lost and stand alongside our Rwandan students and members of the local Rwandan community in recognizing this significant moment in history. Staff Senate – Office Hours

Summer Kids Soccer Camps

ACU Soccer is hosting various kids camps this summer. We are looking forward to a tremendous staff of ACU coaches and players, as well as other professional coaches, to put on the best soccer camp in West Texas. We have day camps, overnight camps, and goalkeeper camps. There will be prizes, competitions, an ACU Soccer camp shirt, and tons of fun! Discounts are available for ACU faculty/staff, siblings attending camp and groups/teams with 7 or more. Test of Emergency Communication Systems Thursday

On Thursday, April 2, at 11:50 a.m. ACU will be testing our ACU Alert and the outdoor bell tower notification system. You may receive a test message through ACU Alert and hear the outdoor notification system. All communications will clearly state: “This is only a test.” No action is required. If a real emergency occurs at the time of the test, the test will be canceled or clearly communicated as a real alert with specific instructions. Note that this test is separate from the City of Abilene’s annual tornado drill scheduled for Wednesday, April 1, at 10 a.m. ACU will not conduct a campus wide tornado drill, but Abilene citizens may receive a City of Abilene community alert that morning.
