ACU was recently awarded a NetVUE Professional Development Grant, which seeks to “assess current understandings of vocation among faculty and staff to help them better understand vocation in higher education generally and ACU’s related initiatives specifically.” Please consider engaging in an important conversation on vocation at ACU and how a shared understanding can benefit our work and our students’ formation. Participation opportunities include:
1. Complete a brief, anonymous survey on vocation. The survey link will be in the Adams Center and HR newsletters in the coming weeks.
2. Pick up a copy of the book At This Time and In This Place by David Cunningham. The Adams Center has 50 copies available on a first-come, first-served basis.
3. Mark your calendars for two lunch sessions during the fall semester about the nature of vocation and how a cohesive approach can help enrich the student experience. All sessions are from 11:30 a.m.-12:50 p.m. in the Adams Center:
- “What do we mean when we talk about vocation?” Choose one: October 6, 7, 19, 20
- “Why should vocation matter for our students?” Choose one: November 7, 8
You can RSVP to the lunch sessions by emailing RSVP2AC@acu.edu.
