Please join us Oct. 29, 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. in the Reading Commons, as Brown Library partners with the Department of Language and Literature for Cover2Cover – a marathon-style reading of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling. Come by, listen, and grab some candy! Each reader takes a 15-minute shift until the entire book is finished. Students, staff, and faculty readers are welcome! The International Students Association in collaboration with Cultura Local ABI proudly presents, Ethnos: Awakening 2020! Let us take you on a trip around the world on Saturday, Nov. 7th at the Town & Country Drive-In as we celebrate and bring the cultures of Abilene to life! Show begins at 7:00 PM. Tickets may be purchased via Venmo, CashApp or with cash at the ACU Campus Center from Monday-Friday, 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM. Tickets may also be purchased online. Join the ACU Maker Lab on Monday, October 12 from 11:30 am to 12:30 p.m. to learn how to design and make your own holiday decorations in the Maker Lab. In this session, you will learn how to set up your designs for the laser cutters using Adobe Illustrator. RSVP

Faculty, we’re excited to introduce the new BNC Adoption & Insights Portal, your new source for researching and adopting course materials.  We are introducing this portal with the goal of reaching a 100% submission rate by our adoption deadline of October 23, 2020, for the Spring 2021 term.  Submitting your adoptions early ensures that students get the right course materials for their courses at the most affordable price and that our institution remains HEOA compliant. The Scholars Lab will be hosting a virtual session on Monday, Oct. 12 at 11:40 a.m. featuring Digital Scholars Grant recipients, Dr. Lynette Austin, Professor of Communication Sciences & Disorders, and Dr. Trey Shirley, Associate Professor and Assistant Chair of Art and Design and Director of Cornerstone. They will share how they are making use of grant funds with regard to faculty research and learning within their specific fields of expertise. All faculty and staff in Abilene kick off Homecoming week with the Alumni team on Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 5:30-7 p.m. on the porch of Hunter Welcome Center. Celebrate Homecoming with the ACU family at the Abilene Zoo! ACU students, faculty, staff and their families are invited to join us Friday, Oct 16 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. for free zoo attractions, free food, music, giveaways and more!
