Important Changes To Timesheet Deadlines

Timesheets need to be submitted and approved TODAY for the 10/24 – 11/06/21 pay period.  Payday will still be Friday, November 12th.

Please also note the timesheet and approval deadline will be Monday by 5 p.m. 11/22 for the 11/07 – 11/20 pay period.  Payday will still be Friday, November 24th.

Due to bank holidays (Veteran’s Day & Thanksgiving) in each of these weeks, we must get the payroll to the bank early and therefore cannot make any exceptions for late timesheets or PAFs.
Any timesheets or PAFs received after the deadline will be processed on the following payroll. Supervisors should communicate these changes to their student employees.  Please contact HR if you have any questions.

Join Family First on Nov. 10 for our lunch session, “Exploring Counseling Resources for ACU Employees/Dependents and Students, and How to Make Counseling Effective.” This helpful session will cover counseling resources on campus and tips for creating an effective therapy experience. Representatives from our on-campus counseling centers will be on hand to share important information. A free lunch will begin at 11:45 a.m. in the Core Classroom by Brown Library. Please reserve your lunch spot by Nov. 8 at familyfirst@acu.edu.

Join the ACU community next Sunday, Nov. 7, on the lawn of the Onstead-Packer Biblical Studies Building to kick off Christmas Around the World, a celebration of holiday traditions from around the globe, with a free concert by country music artist Aaron Watson (’00). Vendors open at 5:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:45 p.m. Bring your favorite blanket or lawn chair and enjoy our annual Christmas tree lighting, food trucks, and night of great music. As part of ongoing efforts to come into compliance with impending changes to storage availability in our Google Workspace, creation of Google Shared Drives must now be requested via the IT Support Portal. Shared Drives are the preferred way for departments to share documents and files internally. Shared Drive usage should be limited to university business and education purposes. As always, if you have any questions, please contact the Helpdesk at 325-674-4357.

CSART presents the 35th annual Carmichael-Walling Lectures on Thursday, November 4. Dr. Nijay Gupta of Northern Seminary will speak on the theme: Strange Religion—How the First Christians Were Weird, Dangerous and Attractive.  Lecture 1 (4pm). People of Faith: Why the First Christians Called Themselves “Believers.” Lecture 2 (7pm). Cult Without Smoke and Blood: The Strange Worship of the Early Christians. Lectures are free, open to the public and will take place in Hart Auditorium in the Onstead-Packer Biblical Studies Building on ACU’s campus in Abilene. You are invited to nominate students for the December 2021 Honor Awards! Please share this email with the faculty and staff of your department. You can click on this link to view a list of the eligible graduating seniors included in a drop down menu on the webpage. Nomination reasons should be at least a paragraph describing the student’s personal attributes or contributions that correspond to the award nomination. Your input will assist the Student Life Committee in making appropriate decisions with respect to the final recipients for Honor Man or Honor Woman, Trustees Award, B Sherrod Scholarship, or Dean Adams Achievement. B Sherrod Scholarship: Overall contribution to the University. A minimum of a $500 scholarship is included with award to be used for graduate school (ideally at ACU). One to two men or women graduating in May or December will receive awards at Commencement Rehearsal. Dean Adams Achievement: Character, cultural growth and development, obstacles overcome by student (financial or otherwise). One to four men or women will be chosen to receive awards at commencement in December and May. Trustees Award: Character, outstanding achievement which has brought honor to the University. One to four men or women will be chosen to receive awards at commencement in December and May Commencement Rehearsals.

Just a reminder that Friday’s paycheck (10/29) will not have deductions taken out for benefits except for retirement and (if applicable) ACU gifts. Also, vacation and sick do not accrue on the 3rd check because employees have already received their full monthly accrual amount with the previous two checks.
