The next testing clinic is scheduled for Thursday, October 29th, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. All faculty, staff and students can receive free COVID-19 PCR testing by scheduling an appointment on this calendar.

As part of ACU’s ongoing efforts to keep our campus community as safe as possible, we are providing ongoing surveillance testing. This appointment calendar is for individuals who are NOT experiencing COVID symptoms. If you are symptomatic, please call 325.674.2625 to speak to the ACU Medical Clinic.  Questions may be sent to covidquestions@acu.edu. ACU’s PCR testing is part of a research project with TTUHSC.

This week, we are focusing on protecting our marriages during Covid. Creating a strong marriage is challenging even without Covid, and now these additional stressors can leave partners weary and neglecting their relationship. Can you relate? As we seek to care for our students, children, and other work and life demands, let’s remember to not put our marriages on the back burner. A little reflection and intentionality can be enough to strengthen the marital bond. Check out this article, 5 Quick Ways to Protect Your Marriage During Coronavirus. Don’t be afraid to reach out for help and support if the marital distress lingers. Let’s pray for our marriages and support each other along the way.

As we work to limit the exposure to COVID, all meeting organizers are encouraged to continue utilizing remote technology to collaborate if possible instead of meeting in person.  If an in-person meeting is necessary, remind attendees of simple measures to lower risk and prevent the spread of viruses (stay home if you don’t feel well or have fever, don’t shake hands, wear masks, practice physical distancing, etc). Provide easy access to handwashing facilities, and make sure alcohol-based sanitizers are readily available to all participants. As we all navigate the array of challenges during the Covid Pandemic, Family First is launching a series on Coping During Covid. Look for helpful resources that can help you and your loved ones foster resiliency during these trying times. This week we focus on self-care. Please exercise vigilance when using alcohol-based hand sanitizer to ensure it is completely evaporated before touching any metal object or other items that often harbor static electricity. Also, please do not place alcohol sanitizers, including alcohol-based disinfectant wipes, within 6 inches of outlets, light switches or other electronics. Use extreme caution in laboratories or other areas with open flames or heat sources.

All faculty, staff and students can receive free COVID testing Tuesday, Sept. 8 by signing up at this calendar. As part of ACU’s ongoing efforts to keep our campus community as safe as possible, we are providing periodic open testing dates. The first clinic is  Tuesday, Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the west concourse of Moody Coliseum.  The clinic will be offering PCR testing as a part of a research project with TTUHSC. The next testing date will be Oct. 7. Questions may be sent to covidquestions@acu.edu.

Details about ACU’s protocols for exposure to COVID-19 are available online. If a member of the ACU community has been exposed, they should follow the Decision Tree to determine what steps to take. Testing is available in the MACCC by appointment. Remember to Do Your Part by wearing your mask, practicing physical distancing and washing your hands.

The ACU Medical Clinic can provide all of your COVID-19 testing needs. The PCR test will be available later this summer. The PCR, which is the gold standard of testing will be available at no charge for faculty, staff and students. Watch for details.

The new FDA approved Rapid SARS Antigen test is available now for patients who have been exposed to COVID-19 and/or are exhibiting symptoms. The antigen test is a nasal swab administered via a drive up appointment for $40 and is covered by ACU’s health insurance plan.
