Congratulations to Dr. Carisse Berryhill and Dr. Matt Garver for being awarded Aging Studies Grants for undergraduate research at Abilene Christian University. This is the first year the Pruett Gerontology Center has offered the Aging Studies Grants. This grant is designed to help ACU faculty across the university engage undergraduate students in research that directly involves and/or benefits the older population. Dr. Berryhill heads Special Collections at the ACU Library. The title of her project is Pruett Fellows Oral History Project. With this project, students are trained in the primary research skills of oral history and narrative research.
Dr. Garver is Associate Professor in the Kinesiology and Nutrition Department. The title of his project is The 
K.N.O.W. Study, Knowledge Not Operationalized, Why? He asks the question is exercise-related knowledge predictive of functional ability and fitness in older adults. With more adults living over 60 years of age, this topic is directly relevant to quality of life.
