To remain viable in a rapidly changing higher education market, ACU must move beyond measuring success by input indicators and graduation/placement rates to make substantial gains in delivering on its fundamental value proposition and core mission of educating students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world. Experiential learning is one way to do that and builds on ACU’s existing strengths of high-touch and high-impact programs.
Many Paths. One Journey.
ACU has long endorsed the benefits of “experiential learning.” In this context, experiential learning can be described as opportunities for students to engage in various activities both inside and outside of the traditional classroom designed to enhance their understanding of curricular topics through practical application, self-reflection, and exposure to varying and opposing perspectives. Experiential learning also allows students to obtain and articulate important skills and competencies that are necessary for students to live out God’s calling for their lives.
