Darwin and Creation

Most people associate Darwinism negatively with Creation – that is, they believe Darwinism contradicts Creation completely. I do not believe this to be true. While I do not think that humans evolved from another species entirely, such as fish, apes, etc., I do recognize that humans have in fact evolved over time. For example, our ancestors may have been more short and small because they needed to be compact in order to fit into wherever they could find shelter – usually (presumed to be) in caves. People nowadays, although ranging in shape and size, tend to be larger than our cavemen counterparts. So, did we come from apes or fish or some other non-human-like creature? I highly doubt it. Have we evolved in order to better suit our environments? Absolutely. God created us to evolve, but He created us as our own race from the beginning.

I really like your point of view of this. Many Christians totally dismiss the ideas of evolution, but I like that you pointed our that we were made to evolve. Your perspective is very open-minded.

I definitely see Darwin’s theory as a positive point of view on creation. While I also believe we weren’t born from fish. We have come a long way and evolved in our own small ways over time.

Kami, roommates must think alike because I said the same thing! I think that Darwin truly did believe that in Creation God placed an ability to evolve and I am so excited someone else sees it that way.

I like your idea about evolutionary idea and Creation. God made us based on his image from the beginning, but he also have planned the evolvement. We are created to evolve in order to adapt to the complicated and ever-changing environment and survive.

I loved how you are so open-minded, I loved your post especially when you mentioned that we were made suitable for our environment. God did create us based on how he thought we should look not based on animalistic features. I mean we were not created to look like fishes, apes, etc. We were made to look human! Therefore we had to make a living based off of how a human should live not by fish, apes, etc.

I agree with you, I don’t think Darwin meant to contradict creationism completely either. I really like how you, and many others, are open to the idea that Darwin wasn’t as much as the extremist we make him out to be. Very good points in this post. Well done.
